http://converse--shoes.blogspot.com/Since 1993, accessories designer Jas Sehmbi been re-discovering the craft of mixology, not the sort you find in bars but in the skills of fusing needs in an urban surrounding with the classical skills of tannery from DJ bags to his re-interpretation of the city dweller’s staple, the messenger bag. Now comes the designer first collaboration with CONVERSE, more specifically the iconic Jack Purcell, for his Jas M.B. label. Wrapped in premium leather from Italy, of which Sehmbi painstakingly “antiqued” to create the crackled effect as if the Chuck Taylor has been worn thoroughly for a few decades, without the leather losing its integrity during the process. The new Jack Purcell is now read to set sail in an interesting navy/white sailcloth weave upper. The marine theme bodes quite well with the casual classics and creates an interesting pattern that is not jutting, and is quite preppy and sophisticated with a creative, contemporary twist. Trust us, your shoes won’t be the only things smiling.

CONVERSE Jack Purcell – Slim Dress Gingham

The popular Converse Jack Purcell used to be an icon on the tennis court as well as badminton court in its golden era. Now, it is enjoying lime light in the urban scene as it had been reincarnated as a style icon. This latest Slim Dress Gingham model shows just how Jack Purcell kicks are not only versatile in terms of function, but also in terms of style.

Inspired by the gingham check pattern that is used on shirts, this little number signs a country note with a red/white or black/white gingham pattern. The signature red “smile” on the toe cap has been toned down to black, and the “smile” is accompanied not by perfect pearly whites, but by a matching black toe cap and taping around the shoes. A black Jack Purcell heel patch adds a little interesting touch to the back, nodding to the heritage these new summery models have inherited.

Sak X Converse One Star And Jack Purcell

Earlier this year, we showed you the first installment of the ongoing sak x Converse collaborative effort which included two highly-detailed Chuck Taylors. Both sides have now incorporated the extremely-detailed attributes on the One Star and the Jack Purcell models.

The One Star and Jack Purcell are comprised of old-world construction techniques, namely supple leathers that were hand-stitched from upper and rand to insole. Other distinctive attributes include hand-stitched leather rands/toe bumpers and the hand-cut star cutouts seen at the ends the shoes’ leather laces. The Jack Purcell, shown above, features a light tan and brown color scheme, while the One Star contains a black/brown scheme. Both pairs are now available at select global retailers for $600-$700 in sizes 7-11.
