The following are various ways to express some one�s dissatisfaction/agony and draw some one else (Government/Media/Public) attention.
1. Daily Fasting : One or more people would sit for fasting from 6 AM to 6 PM. One group would pass on the fire to next group.
2. Continuous Fasting : One or more people would sit for fasting 24 hours a day. Such people should not have health issues like Blood Pressure, Gastric Trouble, Sugar, insulin deficiency, Heart relates issues. This may cuase arrest.
3. Protesting : Conduct a rally with group/mass of people with immigration ply cards and banners.
4. Wearing Black Ribbons : People would wear/put a small black ribbon on their shirt pockets (Upper left side of the chest) and attend duties. We can draw people attentions. Such ribbon should have white color immigration slogan printed on it.
5. Distributing Flyers : Distributing Flyers/Handouts to people in respective areas.
6. Banners : Display banner/show outs in the Traffic Island Medians
7. Flower Campaign : Sending Flowers to respective people, also called Gandhi giri.
8. Silent Sitting : Sitting in front of USCIS silently (no talk).
9. Silent sitting in front of Senators house: Group of people should sit (kind of protest) in front of respective state senators. We can draw maximum MEDIA attention.
10. Sweeping Roads : A group of people would sweep roads by wearing immigration slogans jackets.
11. Organize Blood Donate Drives : Interested member would donate blood (We should explain to media, why we are doing so).
12. Rally in All Major Cities : Conduct a rally in all Major cities (where we have at least 100 members) at the same time.
We still have various other ways to express our dissatisfaction, however, they are little rude and could cause more issues.

You just hit the nail hard on its head -
1. yes, our employers pay big bucks to keep us employed and guess what, that will pay for the USCIS work force to legalize the undocumented workers. Isn't it good to have 300,000 people paying 2000 dollars each every year to extend H1 - such a nice revenue stream, and a great business idea. Guess how many Ameican jobs it creates?
2. Oh btw, you keep paying SSN and Medicare like other educated workers and then if you are unlucky which a sizeable percentage is, you do not get a dime back. I hear a lot of SS going bankrupt etc., but hey, even in the worst case scenario, they talk about reducing SS, not abandoning it. So, you subsidize the older Americans but no one susidizes you when you are old.
I think some politicians actually like our problem, we will always do things legally and it is easy to screw us as we are documented - they know who we are. Some employers (not all) like it because it i a great way to tether someone for eternity in a particular job. It is a win-win situation for these politicians and employers.
But then there are other politicians who think of the long terms effects of taking advantage of legal immigrants, and they try to help our cause. And other employers who get scared that the best ad brightest will realize they have better opportunities else where and leave.
Let us see which camp wins.

I recently applied (08/30) for advance parole as a new application (not renewal) at TSC, will I get a finger printing appointment from USCIS. Dude,
I am facing same issue....need to get some money back from India....and there is no way i can get it officially without losing significant part of it. It is really illogical to send money to India for property investment just because we cannot get money back.....I am repenting doing that....
Whenever I ask my friends to do this favor to me.....all they say is they dont have money to send India (since they dont want to disclose their worth to me) or they dont want to send money to India since they know it is useless to send money at such a bad conversion rate.
If you can find some better way, let me know too.
open a nri account here in india with your dad as a second name to it in a bank like hsbc which is there both in india and usa....then you or your dad dcan deposit money in that account...then anybody can withdraw after that. ...Second your dad can gift you a certain amount by converting rs to dollars in india and getting american express travelers check and sending it to you,....

Dear Members,
We have worked hard in the last 4 years and have made some progress along the way Immigration Voice Achievements (http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=47) But Most of us are still in the limbo of green card process and waiting in different stages. Some of us may have advanced to the I-485 stage and have a little more career flexibility but the hanging sword of uncertainty still looms over our heads.
Our angst, our insecurity:
Even with EAD and other options, lack of green card is lack of security and lack of certainty. You know it and you feel it every day. In order to find a permanent fix for the uncertainty, angst and insecurity and in order to snap out of the probationary lifestyle and career, we have to finish what we started over 4 years ago -- get the U.S. Congress to act on this problem and solve it once and for all.
Early effort wins:
The first agenda of next Congress will be immigration and we expect an immigration bill to be debated sometime in early 2011. However, it would be a big mistake to wait until that time to do something about that bill. Successful advocacy efforts are the ones that start early and introduce concepts and ideas into the debate before the legislators write their first draft. Once the committee hearings and debates begin, it is harder to get changes or fixes into a bill because it requires an amendment to the bill in a politically charged and heated atmosphere. Groups and organizations that wait until the last minute to influence members of congress often fail to achieve results. In order to succeed in next year's immigration bill, we have to begin talking to members of congress now. Remember, the advocacy efforts we did with lobby day and rally in Sept 2007 influenced congress to include our provisions in bipartisan bills introduced in Aug 2008. Legislative things take time.
How you can help:
You and help in two different ways:
Join the advocacy effort in DC on June 7th and 8th. The only thing that can help us predict Sep bulletin is how many visa # have been used so far from 2009 quota. Since USCIS will be rushing to use up all visa # the quantity can least give us an idea if dates will move few months or few years. USCIS should not have trouble with either since they have so many pre-adjudicated applications to take care of both scenario's. I am pretty optimistic (realistically confident) that there will be a forward movement.
Knowing about future, or predicting what is to come, would help if we ought to do something in preparation; an advance action, such as nailing our windows shut if we are predicting a storm. That is not the case here. Therefore, sure shot 'prediction' is just to wait and see. It is only a few days away. If new cutoff date encompasses your PD, pray and check your email every day (or every hour or even minute), and hope for the best.

Dear Friend, I respect your thought process of trying to stay in US but do Prem ( Love in Hindi) to another country. But forgive me friend, I cannot do so. I speak what I do. The day I filed my application for permanent residenship in US (which is a way to become US citizen), I gave my heart to US. I believe that if tomorrow we are given a chance to become US citizen, many of us ( maybe not 100%) will grab the opportunity and take oath for aligience to US. Immidiately all the so called love they are showing now for their own country will vaporate in a day or in a second.
Friend, you have sited leagal reasons and directed me to the US Supreme court. I am not sure if you had already asked US Spereme court or whther you are a learned lawyer of US legal system. I had only congratulated Our President on winning the graet Nobel Peace prize and had written that me and my family is greatly pleased at his winning the prize. Dear friend do you know how many members of my family are US citizen. So if I say our President it includes me , my wife and my whole family (including my in laws and my siblings).

Athough I belive I have not written anything bad about anyone, but this people hijacked this thread after my congratulatory comments to our President. I share the blame for this thread being hijacked. So this will be my last post on this thread.
Before I end, I am very pleaseed to see that there are still many of us who has the courage to call a spade a spade and point out the hypocrats. Hats off to them.
Going by a idom I had heard when I was young - When an elephant goes lots of dogs bark, but the elephant still goes on. Abiding this idiom I shall continue to sing praise of USA and respect our presiden Mr Obama.

Dear Friend, I respect your thought process of trying to stay in US but do Prem ( Love in Hindi) to another country. But forgive me friend, I cannot do so. I speak what I do. The day I filed my application for permanent residenship in US (which is a way to become US citizen), I gave my heart to US. I believe that if tomorrow we are given a chance to become US citizen, many of us ( maybe not 100%) will grab the opportunity and take oath for aligience to US. Immidiately all the so called love they are showing now for their own country will vaporate in a day or in a second.
