Balenciaga Gladiator Boots - I Love Them

There's been a bit of a debate on the Internet about the Balenciaga gladiator boots that are seen here on Rihanna. Over the last few months, many have voiced their dislike and down right hate about these gorgeous stiletto's, and consider them a huge fashion faux pas but I love them.

I don't know what it is, I mean they are odd looking (and expensive - $6945) but they are also fabulous.

What do you think about these strange and lovely heels?

These are the gladiator style sandals, but I don't like them as much as the knee high boots above.

I find that there are many high heel shoes and boots that look good in one color, but are absolutely hideous in another color. However, I like the looks of these gladiator heels regardless of the color.

Balenciaga is a great designer but I have had to raise a brow at some of his high heel shoe designs over the years. In 2007, many people raised a brow when they were first introduced to his high heel shoe that many people felt resembled something made by a child using Lego blocks. Off a runway, I do not think that most women would run to by these heels unless someone paid them to.

I have grown fond of the shoe design but I still would not wear it. I would however like to add it to a collection just to be looked at. These heels are also expensive, coming in at a whopping $4,175 a pair. Sexy crooner, Beyonce was spotted at the AMA's wearing and performing in a pair of these eye catching shoes and all over the internet fans and haters have wondered if she owns a mirror. Let's just hope that they came with the regular celebrity swag and that she did not actually pay for them.

These heels come in bright ugly and plain black but as if that wasn't bad enough, the designer decided that making them into a variety of flats couldn't possibly make them any uglier. Wrong!

I am beginning to think that their some sort of conspiracy against me. I loved these boots the moment I saw them, but glancing down at them I realize they have my biggest shoe pet peeve. They are pointy at the front.

As you know I hate this. It is a big factor that I find pointed shoes ugly, but most of all they are damn uncomfortable.

As someone who had wide feet, some regular shoes hurt after a while and it is sometimes extremely painful to wear shoes like these. These are a great looking pair of shoes, but this is another pair that won't make it to my closet.

The Color of Sickness

The design of these Terre Peck boots are lovely. The heel isn't too high or too low and the buckle is a nice touch. The color reminds of puke however and the name of said awful color is "Vesuviana Suede". Lovely not only is the color ugly but it's also hard to pronounce.

This week I'm not sure if I'm losing it or not. I have not come across shoes I like in the past few days and these slingbacks are just too too much. These ugly plaid wasn't enough, so someone thought it would be handy to tack on whatever left over material they had left? Definitely goes in the tackiest shoes department.

Whenever I come across a pair of ugly shoes I think nothing can be uglier and I am always proven wrong. I first thought these high heel boots were pretty until I looked at the big picture and had to step back. Check out these ugly boots via Vivre. I think they are not just ugly but hideous as well. And how much does a pair of hideous boots cost? They cost $465.99 and if you think that's high well I can tell you that's only the sale price, the real price is $1165.00. Yes I too am still stunned. What won't the rich buy.

Ode To The Ugly

I know that there are women that have bought this shoe or they wouldn't still be selling it.



This is one of the times that I would like to be able to see this shoe through their eyes. Because through my eyes I see one butt-ugly clunky high heel. I'm not crazy about the color, the sharpness of the heel and especially the extremely square tip. This shoe screams ugly to me, plus the fact that it's all pulled together with a suede finish doesn't help matters. Also they have the nerve to sell this uggo $99, but that's just the sale price, it's actually $179 at 6pm.

When I first saw these boots I thought they were ugly enough to bring tears to your eyes, but they actually look nice when someone is wearing them.

My guess is they need to be filled out to show the full force of their beauty.

My sister loves these shoes and seems to be trying her hardest to get a pair in every color. Meanwhile I am in the corner trying not to gag.

I don't find Timbaland boots that good looking, so I don't know who came up with the idea to make them for women in a high heel design.

I find these shoes to be butt-ugly. And the color sure doesn't help. What turns me off the most is the elongated pointy tip of the shoes. I have always been a person who hates pointy shoes.

My view has always been to point out that we don't have pointy feet and our feet are widest up front and yet the designers make shoes that are guarateed to leave you limping the next day. I like to look good, but I'm not a slave to fashion and I'm not going to torture myself, sorry.

People Actually Buy These?

I'll keep this short and to the point. Ugly as sin. There I said it.

L'Autre Chose Black Knee High Boot

Don't own a pair of these boots and doubt I ever will. My biggest problem with them is the flap at the top. Very ugly in my opinion, but below that, the rest of these boots are gorgeous.

The heel is little over 3" but they do look much shorter to me. At first glance I thought that these were very plain but they grew on me. Now if I can just block out the vision of that flap (shudder).

Here's a question: Why is it that the ugly heel are the most expensive? Seriously, these aren't that great looking and they are (gag) made of real calf skin. So I can only assume that is the reason they cost more than $325?

My friends seem to love it, but I strongly disagree with them. But then I am more the strappy high heel type, so I'm a little biased.
